Heading 1
This is usually only used once on a page – for most pages on this site the H1 is used in the title banner, eg on this page it’s ‘Typography’. Try to avoid using it in the content unless it’s a very important section.
Heading 2
For titling the main sections of a page this would be the usual one to use. for further subdivisions of content it’s probably best to use the h4 tag and avoid 3, 5 and 6. This will make it easier to keep consistency throughout content.
The Horizontal Rule is also a good tool to divide content:

Heading 6
LEAD IN. Usually used for the first paragraph in a section / page. It’s slightly larger than the regular text. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat.
