An automated external defibrillator is the only tool that can save someone in cardiac arrest. Once the pads are applied to someone's chest, the device analyzes the heart and determines if a lifesaving shock is needed. All you need to do is turn it on and apply the pads.

AEDs are so important that we keep launching campaigns to distribute them. This is the Overtime Challenge. Sudden death is a great way to decide a hockey game. It is a tragic way to lose a teammate. Every time the Philadelphia Flyers enter a sudden death period, we donate an AED to a local youth facility.
