Join us on October 18 for a free youth heart screening. It is part of our reimagining of Simon’s 21st Birthday Week.
It would be so much fun to host a birthday party for hundreds of people. Given the circumstances, we’re inviting them to a heart screening instead. Over the years, more than 20,000 students have received heart screenings helping 150+ discover heart conditions. It’s Simon’s way of giving gifts.
Why?
Sudden cardiac arrest takes the lives of thousands of children every year. It is the #1 cause of death of student athletes. Research shows a heart screening is the best way to discover undetected heart conditions. About one out of every 300 students has a heart condition.
Who?
Any student between the ages of 12 – 25 are eligible for this no-cost screening. Donations are encouraged.
What?
The screening includes a detailed medical and family history, blood pressure check, 12-lead ECG (electrocardiogram), and if necessary, a limited echocardiogram. Board-certified cardiologists will be on-site to evaluate all test results and provide immediate feedback.
What Now?
To attend, follow this link. It must be completed by a parent (or student if over the age of 18). You will sign a consent form, complete a medical and family history questionnaire, and choose a screening time.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
