Manheim Student Killed in Car Accident

A Manheim Central High School student was killed when his car struck a house in Rapho Township, police said Friday. Evan Heiser, 18, a senior and a member of the high school football team, died in the wreck. State police confirmed his identity Friday.Manheim Central football coach Mike Williams said that Friday was a difficult day for the team and its coaches.  “Our kids right now are pretty devastated,” Williams said.

“It’s a tough thing. You have a nice-looking young man, an 18-year-old. It’s a tough loss. We don’t look at him as a football player, we just look at him as a good young man.”  Manheim’s roster identified Heiser as a 6-foot-1-inch 195-pound player, whose positions included running back/linebacker.
